[Android] Files deleted off Kindle return as "new" files

I am not sure if this is something related to your product or to Calibre itself. If I delete a .MOBI file from my Kindle device. And reboot, the book comes back and has a New label on it. I am sure it has something to do with syncing?

I assume that by "comes back" you mean that it shows up again in CC. If this is right then what this sounds like is that the book is "still there" after being deleted and that CC's "scan for new books" is finding the file.

How are you deleting the file? Are you using CC? after deleting the file, is it gone from the Fire's reader?

You can stop the books from reappearing in CC by turning off scan for new books. Go to Settings / Connecting to calibre / Wireless device connection and uncheck "Scan on connect".

Sorry--corrected mistakes by reposting rather than editing.

I'm having this same issue. Books I have loaded from Calibre onto my Android Kindle App don't seem to ever go away.

I have tried to delete books using Calibre, I have tried to delete books using the Kindle App, and I have deleted books using file manager--the books show up again after a while as 'new'. I have deleted the books several times and each time they come back.

I have no idea where they are coming from--I don't even have to be connected to Calibre for them to reappear in the Kindle app. It usually takes a while--I usually notice them after opening the app a few hours later or the following day.

I wasn't even using CC to load the books, so I don't think it's an issue with CC.

I suspect that the Kindle 4 Android app is doing some sort of syncing. It would (obviously) know that a book was there. If the book was removed then it might think it was "archived" and then keep some kind of placeholder for it. That might count as a book?

What I am saying is that it might be necessary to do "something" in K4A to tell it that the book is in the cloud and not on the device. Just a guess....

Thanks for the reply. I am deleting it off of the Kindle by selecting it and "Remove from Device".
