How can I disable the sign-in prompt on homescreen

Hi All,
is there any possibility to get an alternative slim start menu without extentions to avoid this ugly sign-in-mask on the first Homescreen? Only content should be shown on first page.

Do you have a "Special Offers" device?

What firmware version?
home -> menu -> settings -> menu -> device info.

Well, that makes it simple then.
Go to your Amazon account and disable special offers.

The sign-in panel you want gone is part of the special offers support.
It gives people who use a magnetic cover time to read the current advertisement before the Kindle becomes an e-book reader rather than an advertising device.

First try:
Home -> Menu -> Device Options -> Personalize you Kindle -> Advanced Options ->
Disable:
Cover View Recommendations
Next in Series
-> Whispersync for Books -> Enable/Disable as desired

If that does not fix it, then ->
Go to your Amazon account and disable special offers.

Please give more details than "does not work".

Was there a problem disabling Special Offers on your Amazon account for that device?

@knc1: IIRC the thing @-uragan- is referring to is the message that is nagging users to register their Kindle (= login to Amazon account) and also takes up half the screen . It't there also for non-SO Kindles until you register it. The only way to hide it and make use of that space to display more book covers is to register your Kindle. So real register or the fake one using SSH/USBNetwork...

@-uragan-: Unless you have blacklisted Kindle (that can not be registered) I don't see the point of all that paranoia. If you must, create new email address provided with fake info and then use that email to create new Amazon account also filled with fake name and other info. Then register your Kindle to that Amazon account and from that moment you can just keep your Kindle in Airplane mode, to "stop Amazon spying"...

I didn't recognize it as the "register now!" message.

But if that is what it is, then either fake or real registration should get rid of it.

Note: the ;411 report will give you the device's registration status.

There is no paranoia from my side. I just want to keep my device in Airpane mode (save battery) and see on homescreen 6 Items (books) instead of 3 Items at top and the Sign-In Message at bottom or respectively advertisement from kindle-shop (in connected-mode).
