Waiblinger, Wilhelm: Ges.Werke Bde 1+2 (1839) [German] V1

Wilhelm Friedrich Waiblinger (*21. November 1804 in Heilbronn; †17. Januar 1830 in Rom) war deutscher Dichter und Schriftsteller, der vor allem durch seine Freundschaft zu Friedrich Hölderlin und Eduard Mörike bekannt wurde.
Er studiert Theologie am Tübinger Stift, trifft in Tübingen [...] den damals bereits seit anderthalb Jahrzehnten als wahnsinnig geltenden Dichter Friedrich Hölderlin im Hölderlinturm zu Tübingen, bei dem er während seiner gesamten Studienzeit häufiger Gast wird. Diese Begegnungen verarbeitet er zunächst in seinem Roman Phaeton (1823), 1827/1828 porträtiert er Hölderlin in seinem Buch "Friedrich Hölderlin’s Leben, Dichtung und Wahnsinn".
Während seiner Studienzeit gehört Waiblinger auch zum Freundeskreis des Dichters Eduard Mörike. Im September 1826 muss er Tübingen und die Universität wegen einer skandalösen Beziehung verlassen. Auf Veranlassung des Verlegers Cotta reist er nach Italien, lebt in Rom und schreibt über Kultur und Alltag in Italien. Vollendet dort seine Hölderlin-Biographie, erkrankt nach einer Reise nach Sizilien und stirbt in Rom im Alter von 25 Jahren. [s. Wikipedia]
