Keyboard Shortcut for <li>?
The keyboard shortcuts in the editor that let me shift an element from a paragraph to a heading or to a different kind of heading are really useful!
Would it be possible to extend this functionality so that I can also turn things into list items? When converting .doc files into ePub files I find that I have to do this quite often. Being able to automate that task would be extremely helpful! |

Using the Insert Tag button, you can specify any tag complete with attributes for the opening tag, and your most recently used tags will appear in the dropdown. Although that won't act on the surrounding block level tag, you can quickly tag highlighted content.

That's true but being able to transform one to the other with a single key combination would be a vast improvement, especially if I have to do it several thousand times.

The issue is that there doesn't apppear to be a way to use the tag transform with other elements at all, and merely wrapping text isn't entirely the same thing.
A purely calibre alternative is a snippet. |

If you want to replace the same type of content on thousands of entries, the most efficient way is using search and replace. However, if you find regular expressions too daunting, then I suggest you copy paste the html into some editor that supports macros, and create a macro to do it for one item, then repeat that macro on all items, then copy paste back.
