Is there any difference between standard ePUB and Android device compatibility ePUB?

No.
On Android you would read an ePub with an app. There are several to choose from, and they may differ in exactly how they display ePubs but there is no particular flavor of ePub for Android. Some apps can read ePubs with Adobe and/or B&N DRM (encryption) and others require DRM-free ePubs. See Apprentice Alf's Blog for more on DRM and its removal. See Wiki: Android eBook Reading for a partial list of apps. Last edited by wallcraft; 04-26-2012 at 03:34 AM. |

ePUB is ePUB. The DRM may differ, but that is it. Whether you reading app or reader reads it, that is another question. Certain aspects of the specification can be read in different ways and that causes some readers to interpret an ePUB differently.
