Finally worked this out a bit. Sony and Amazon both show a book as being unavailable when you view the book info page.

If you want canadian content, then go for Kobo. The kobo store has a lot more canadian content - both books and newspapers. Another plus for the Kobo is that it supports epub - you can purchase your books from other sites - like Sony's ebook store and do not have to convert the books to use on the Kobo.
