Hello and welcome! I've got The Plague on my list of books this year. I also saw a vintage copy of The Stranger, but I passed because someone wrote too many notes in it.

That would have been an enticement for me. I like coming across a notated copy of a book and always read other people's notes and underlinings to see what they thought about it. I can understand, though why some people are put off by it.

I prefer not to buy physical books with notes in - especially if they take up too much space or encroach on the text (such as underlinings)

I was convinced Camus's work was public domain, and getting ready to give you a couple of links, but I just realized he died Jan 4th, 1960, 50 years ago, and his books won't be PD until Jan 1st 2011.
I'm sure you will find plenty other free ebooks around that will accommodate you!
