Calibre not launching anymore

Suddenly Calibre doesn't launch anymore. After reinstalling it launches one time then the problem is the same. After setting windows 7 back a few days it works a few times, but then the problem recurs.

When I start the task managers I see that Calibre.exe is an active proces. When I stop the proces Calibre starts sometimes but then the problem is back.

I use Calibre for years and this the first time I have this problem. What can I do?

No it was not running on another monitor. But I found a way out: uninstalling, restarting the computer, deleting the calibre map and then reinstalling (in this case I installed the 64bit version in stead of the 32bit - not sure it made a difference. I guess restarting the computer and deleting the map before reïnstalling did the trick.

@henkvdb - the question is why did the uninstall not delete the install directory - map

The usual reason is because some component of the application is in use (running). Maybe calibre.exe, ebook-edit, ebook-viewer or a calibre command line program, calibre-server is another possibility. If a component is in use then the uninstaller usually won't remove it or the directory. And I have seen stranded calibre-parallel processes, but not for a while and I can't recall the circumstances.
