display chinese filename

Does anyone know what encoding used in entourage edge? My laptop with linux installed uses UTF-8 encoding. The parameters for mounting the edge are rw,nosuid,nodev,uhelper=udisks,uid=1000,gid=1000,s hortname=mixed,dmask=0077,utf8=1,flush

With the above setting, I can not see chinese filename properly when I copy some files (chinese name) from my laptop to edge.

Shall I mount edge differently or change certain system settings to fix this?

your problem may cause of no chinese in droid system fonts. Even there is chinese option in locale setting, My language (Thai) had the same problem before.

If this is a correct problem, You need to find the chinese system fonts and replace it, you also need to root EE...

they do have chinese fonts. I can view chinese webpage with no problems. I can even create a file with chinese name in edge (filename is copied from, say, chinese webpage). However, after I connect it with my laptop, I won't see it from my laptop. That is why I guess it is an encoding problem. Thanks!

Can you share what you did to view Thai? You use windows or Linux? Any settings you have changed on edge?

You need to replace Droid Fonts into Firmware and flash the custom firmware.
