What model? Many of the more recent Fire's can have the Play store added pretty easily. (I'm assuming you meant a Fire since you said tablet)

I've added it to a 7" Fire and seen no difference in performance.

I have the 1st 10" it Never worked with Downloading the Google Play. So I went and purchased a 10" Insignia from Best Buy... $99 & Sometimes on sale for $69.99
