My new oasis is taking screenshots itself...

I got a new Kindle Oasis today. Initially I was going to dive in and enjoy the new books I got last week, but the screen just kept refreshing itself for no reason. It only happened when it was connected to the cover and the annoying refreshes were gone when I took it down. An hour later, I connected the kindle to my laptop and was surprised to find over a hundred screenshot files in the root directory. I looked everywhere but couldn't seem to find someone having the same issue. The problem is probably the cover, but is there any immediate fix or I'll have to ask for an exchange?

The text is just that of a normal screenshot.
(Although the combination of things visible on the screen is a bit unusual.)

A screenshot is triggered by a simultaneous, double touch at diagonally opposite corners of the screen.
It is real hard to imagine something that would be emulating that trigger.

Return it, there is something wrong with the hardware.

On the Kindles, ever since the first touchscreen model.
The other (keyboard) devices of course are different.

The exact same thing is happening to mine. I did find some other users with the same issue, but haven’t found a fix. I’ll hsve to contact Amazon.

Sounds like the Kindles are suffering from selfitis.

The kindles appear to be just too full of themselves. That can happen with great success.
