Failed to communicate with "/interface-data/init? Network Error?
I initially was able to connect to my new calibre web server... after a couple of days I have been getting this error...
First I get this... Loading, please wait… You can also use a simple, non-javascript version of this site: here Then this... "Failed to communicate with "/interface-data/init?1517366688958", network error, is the server running and accessible?" Server is up and running... tried various things and still same error. No look googling or searching forums... Bill |

Something is blocking access to the server. Typical culprits are firewalls/antivirus programs.

Update
Initially the new eBook server installed and worked for prob 3 -4 days... Have not loaded anything else on the machine... only updates Microsoft 10 and latest version of Calibre (Same error on 32 and 64)
I turned off all Symantec Firewall and Auto Protects This is the server log "calibre server listening on :::8000:0:0" Currently i am trying to use port 8000 but have tried several other unused ports... I have made sure that my firewall has been forwarding each port that I have tried as well as putting the ebook server in DMZ with still the same result... I know I am getting to the new eBook server because I am initially getting screen of: "Loading, please wait… You can also use a simple, non-javascript version of this site: here" Then I get the following error: "Failed to communicate with "/interface-data/init?1517412311080", network error, is the server running and accessible?" Any ideas? Thanks! Bill |

The initial screen comes from the browser cache, seeing it does not mean you have reached the server. Look at the server logs, if you reach the server, the access log will have entries like
Code:
127.0.0.1 port-40310 - 07/Jan/2018:18:03:31 +0530 "GET /calibre.appcache HTTP/1.1" 200 676 127.0.0.1 port-40310 - 07/Jan/2018:18:03:31 +0530 "GET /icon/tags.png HTTP/1.1" 200 2726 127.0.0.1 port-40314 - 07/Jan/2018:18:03:31 +0530 "GET /icon/user_profile.png HTTP/1.1" 200 1539 |
