If they make it possible to use android apps (like the kindle reader app and such) it is pretty damn near to what i hunker for in an ereader..
If it is a close environment, no joy |

Just pre-ordered one, curious to see how it is. I always wanted an rM1, but couldn’t justify the price tag...

If I was still in Industry, I'd have one of these for PDFs and annotating PDFS. Especially if the office was paying for it.
It doesn't compete with a Kobo Libra for epubs and unless you have a massive amount of mono PDFs to get through, it can't compete with a decent 10" LCD Android tablet at about 1/3rd price. |

8 Gbs isn't much storage since you will only have maybe 4 left over, and with no sd slot you won't really be able to keep much on it. For me that makes it useless.

I have a 2/3rds used 256 G SD card on my 10" tablet for all the PDF datasheets and reference material.
An 8 G may leave 5 to 6.5G free, which is fine only for non-scanned PDFs, ie ones that could have been made as epubs. |

8GB may not be much internal memory, but it has a USB 3 socket, which can presumably be used for external memory. Although admittedly not as practical or perhaps as fast as a micro-SD slot.
I've just ordered one, but will have to wait until August for expected delivery. |

Any ideas if it will offer split screen, two pages, or multiple documents open at once in landscape mode?
Replacing all your notebooks with one is a great idea, but sometimes you need to refer at two notebooks at once! Seems that the original remarkable didn't have this function. |

Koreader has been ported to reMarkable. As the reMarkable 2 is similar to the 1, it'll probably run fine on it.
https://github.com/koreader/koreader...-on-Remarkable Dunno how stable it is and how it is integrated in the reMarkable's interface, though, but it could be a handle more file types. Last edited by datanoise; 04-06-2020 at 07:25 PM. |

I love the look of it but I could never justify the costs.
