And the Gold Box Deal of the Day today at Kindle US is 30 mysteries and thrillers for $3.99 or less. It's a pretty random selection - a fair number of first-in-series titles, but also some later titles. And at quick glance, there seems to be only one title in any series. Thirty books are too many to list here, but a few authors I noted (based on my own personal tastes) include: Louise Penny, Jacqueline Winspear, Ann Cleeves, Arnaldur Indridason, Jason Goodwin, Ausma Zehanat Khan and Laurie R King. Also keep in mind that some of these titles have been on sale for less, and might go on sale for less in the future.

Over the last couple of months, the first two titles in Stuart Kaminsky's short 3-book CSI New York series have each dropped briefly to $0.99. Now the third book, Deluge, has dropped to $0.99 at Kindle and Kobo US. I've never read any of Kaminsky's CSI titles, but have read and enjoyed a few in some of his other series.

Note: The first book in the series, Dead of Winter, has also dropped again in price, but to $1.99, not $0.99. Still, if you missed it the first time, you might be interested. Links in this post are still good: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh....php?p=3739084 |

Three titles in Reed Farrel Coleman's continuation of Robert B. Parker's Jesse Stone series have dropped to £1.89 or £1.99 at Kindle UK. I've read a couple of these continuation titles and enjoyed them.

Don't know, Zod. Hammett and Chandler are usually more expensive than the other oldies.

Speaking of Hammett, here's the lowest price I've seen for The Maltese Falcon - $4.00.

Sadly both of these books by Hammett and Chandler are from Canada’s Public Domain site pgdpcanada. If you preview the books and scroll to the top you will see the Distributed Proofreaders Canada eBook statement. IMHO a third party seller is using Amazon to profit from a freely distributed book in Canada but still under copyrite in the US.

Duel to the Death is the 13th and most recent (2018) in the Ali Reynolds series by JA Jance. It has dropped to $1.99 at Kindle and Kobo US. Nice to see such a price drop on a most-recent-in-series title.

The occasional random Edward Marston titles for £1.90 at Kindle UK seem to have become the random Edward Marston titles for £0.95 . The Devil's Apprentice is the second Marston title to recently show up at £0.95 - link below is still good.
