Calibre doesn't detect Pyrus 4.0

Calibre doesn't detect my eBook Reader 4Ink (Trekstor Pyrus).
I like calibre very much , but i've no idea whats i am doing wrong...
I did a total reset on my device and tried ~6 previous versions of calibre.
Even a new installation of my operating system worked !
Thanks in advance.

Calibre cannot work directly with that device as it does not return values for the DISK and VEN values in the USB string and Calibre needs those.

You will have to use the Save to Folder option instead as a workaround.

No - that is a different problem relating to MTP type connections.

As I said, your problem is that your device is not filling in all the fields in the USB identity string that Calibre requires so it will never be possible to get Calibre to recognise the device unless the device vendor fixes the firmware to report a complete set of USB fields.

Use the Send to Device workaround I suggested.

In other words: the pyrus is crappy
Mh... and it's not possible to install/flash a new firmware ?
I thought the Pyrus is supported by calibre (There is also a plugin i think).

If not: Thank you anyway !

The vendor failed to make the USB configuration settings.
I believe there is a fee to obtain the vend number. They may have saved $ on a low margin product.
