Kindle trouble

I have a Kindle 2 and Windows Vista when I attach it to Calibre it recognizes it but when it goes to get the list of books on the device it freezes at 32%. So I can't add any books or convert any books. I've turned off computer and restarted and done the same with Kindle. When I plug it in it is still at 32%. This had been going on for 3 days. Thanks

Sounds like you might have a corrupted file.

Have you tried identifying and then isolating the offending file?

Or maybe go back to a previous backup. I get so sh*t scared of losing any of my books that I back them all up once a week (using Calibre).

I don't know how to identify the file. I'm just stuck I can't get into the kindle to go forward or backwards. How do I go back to a previous backup?
