Nook deactivation
My wife and I have recently had our Nooks stolen. We are in the process of receiving new ones but in the mean time how do we deactivate the stolen units? When we receive the new units we will obviously continue to download new Ebooks. Since our B&N accounts are tied to the stolen units, will the download go to those units? We have 100's of books archived in our B&N account. Will we be able to download those to our new Nooks?
Having our Nooks stolen was bad enough. But not being able to download all the previously purchased Ebooks would be extremely frustrating. Daneff |

Please ask questions about the nook in the nook forum, to where I'm now moving this.

Can you not deregister the device from your account at the B&N web site?

When my Nook was stolen, I called B&N to report it, and they deactivated it.

You can not deregister through the website, yes there are links to 'erase and deregister' but all it does is brings up instructions on how to do so using the Nook.
Call BN support, tell them the Nooks were stolen. They can blacklist the SN of the device from buying new content, and from downloading anything new. Though chances are the thief already deregistered them and sold them. It's too easy to trace back fraudulent charges if they were to use your Nook to purchase books. |
