I would personally find that useful, but I'm more looking forward for this update: Google, one of Apple's key competitors, is said to be close behind in this space. It has been using its Android operating system to develop partnerships with Honda, Hyundai and Vauxhaull, according to media reports. |

I don't think it'll compete with Tesla Motors for the moment. Apple checked it out but hasn't shown interest in investing/buying Tesla, which would be the smart thing if they wished to go into the (presumably electric) car business.
