Maximum size of library?
I'm getting close to 1000 books in my library. Do most people with large libraries find it more convenient to split it into two smaller libraries? I'm not having any problems yet I just wonder if it might become unwieldy.

See this thread. 1000 books isn't even close to a "large" library.
 Stick to one library as long as you can, there are a bunch of features that you can't do when you split your library (like cross library searches). Multiple libraries have their purposes, but don't constrain yourself until you are really sure you want to do that.
