I wouldn't have thought personally that the choice of firmware was likely to significantly lower the price of a TV - surely the overwhelming majority of the cost is the actual screen, isn't it?

It was a joke, based on HP slashing the price of the TouchPad from $499 to $99 after that webOS tablet failed in the marketplace.
