Do any third-party cover makers use the 'spine' on the Sony readers?
So, I DO NOT like the covers for the new Sony readers. Whereas in the past, the Sony covers have been very nice quality, all-leather on the outside, the new covers have just a small strip of the leather and the rest is neoprene. Also, for some reason, the moved the spine connector to the back cover rather than having it right in the middle. So when the cover's flipped back, the front and back panels get misaligned, and it just feels weird.
Anyway, I'm going to consider third-party covers when they are available, but it looks like all the current ones use elastic straps, or leather cutouts to hold the reader in place. Does no one use the snap-in possibilities of the holes at top and bottom of the reader spine to hold the reader in place? Thanks! |

Give it time, Sony's good for nickel and diming its consumers. I'd be willing to bet that in a month or two they'll have a "deluxe" leather cover in addition to their regular one

Sony never sold full leather cover with their readers. Full leather covers were labelled as deluxe editions that you had to purchase separately. |

But they also used to give the soft plasticky things away free with their readers and you had to buy the deluxe ones...now you have to buy the cheap plasticky things

Right, I'm talking about the covers you have to buy separately. And when I say misaligned, I mean crooked. It just irks me, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. I hope they do go back and offer full leather covers again, at some point.

I am sure that M-Edge will eventually offer some all-leather covers for the new models. It usually takes them 3-4 months to produce new covers for Sony models. They usually have them out faster for the Kindles.

If you have a chance, perhaps you could post a couple of pics of the cover, as most of us have only seen the ones on the Sony website.
