Want to make Ebook from Books

Hi,

I am a law student and have owned my PRS-700 for around a year or so. I love it, makes life so much easier.

Unfortunately, there arent many (UK) law textbooks around in eformats.

Therefore, I have decided to make them myself.

Does anybody know of a way or a company that can, take a textbook of mine and create a ebook from it?

My book are just text, no pictures or graphs.

plenty of how-to 's online on making a book scanner with a digital camera, do a search on the topic. Thinking of building one myself

Mostly a matter of scanning, using OCR software, then proofreading.

Takes a fair chunk of work, but for a law book or reference material it may well be worth it.

You should be aware, though, as a law student, that in the UK (unlike the US), scanning a book - even one that you own - is specifically not permitted by copyright law. "Fair use" permits you to copy only one chapter from a book, or one article from a magazine.
