Does the "telnet enable" use the WiFi? Does it turn the WiFi on? Can it be replaced with a USBnet approach?

Where do I download the current version?

If this is working, you should start a thread, here in the Developer's Corner, for it with the download link and install instructions in the first post. The title you used in post #10 might draw more people interested in a "new startup script for application selection" than the current thread's "framebuffer settings for koreader".
