saving books to disk instead saves to VLC
When trying to save a book to a directory on a disk its saves to VLC instead. I removed VLC and now it opens a command window with the directory I tried to save to displayed. Saving to disk used to work just fine. This is in Windows 7.

saving books to disk will save the books to disk and then open the destination folder For whatever reason the default program for opening folder on your system has been changed to VLC. Change it back to windows explorer and you will befine. Or just close te VLC window, the books will still be saved.

saving to disk problem
This is an update to my original post. What I have found out is that the books are saved to the directory I want it to. But the window for the directory in NOT opened. Something else is opened, 1) VLC, if VLC is deleted 2) command window, if that is disabled something else is opened. It is almost like a right click list of default programs are started. What program is called by Calibre to open the window that is supposed to open? And is there a logging function to find out what is happening?

double \\ are needed internally to pass a \ as part of the string (and for the Log. do not use for the command)
it is called Escaping. \ is a escape character. to Not have it be an Escape, you need to 'Escape the next character. thus \\ Code:
C:\\Files\\Calibre-Books' the (64 bit version) Program is C:\Program Files\Calibre2\calibre.exe |
