question about merging books and comment field

Hi,

Sorry if the answer has already been given but it looks like I haven't been able to find it. When you merge two record, the metadata in the original record are kept unless they are empty, when the other record metadata are copied.

But it looks like the comment field has a different behavior. It looks like all the comments metadata are merged in the original record. Is this the expected behavior? Is there any way to control it?
