The Mammoth tool (the Sigil plugin is a Mammoth wrapper) requires mapping of DOCX styles to CSS entries, which means inheritance (cascade), and style names can be preserved. If you don't provide the mapping you'll lose most of the styling - which can be useful at times.

With Libreoffice 4 I have long used the Writer2xthml export extension (part of Writer2Latex - http://writer2latex.sourceforge.net/ ) which produces decent Epubs with footnote links and styles which follow the names used in the ODT.

I don't know if it works with LO 6 but worth giving it a try. (Just checked - it appears to be o.k. with LO up to 6.1 - https://extensions.libreoffice.org/e...s/writer2xhtml )

I tried LO4, and LO5 with plugins and the built in epub in LO6.x
All inferior to editing in odt and Save As "docx", then import to Calibre.

Seems a pity they have dropped 32bit on LO 6.x now. Also no 32bit Waterfox or Viber.

I like to keep my expensive 64bit linux laptop in the house and take out the old 32bit laptop which runs KATE, LO 5.x, Firefox, DOS box and 32 bit WINE (i've no 64 windows sw at all) all fine.
