Tsk, 'Just William' is on the list - I hated the William books as a child. (I only later learnt that Richmal Crompton was a woman writer, with no idea what little boys are like .)
I was a 'Jennings and Derbyshire' fan.

It's not really much of a "list"; it's just 5 peoples' personal opinion!

12. Lavender's Blue by Kathleen Lines (1954)
13. A Child's Garden Of Verses by Robert Louis Stevenson (1885)
14. The Sword In The Stone by TH White (1938)

19. A Book Of Nonsense by Edward Lear (1846)
20. Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson (1883)
21. The Happy Prince by Oscar Wilde (1888)

I'd love to see what Terry Pratchett's choices would be!
Speaking of which, why aren't any of his children's books on anyone's list? (cue the little blue men spouting faux Scottish blasphemies!)
