I just got back from the funeral. We didn't stay for the burial or dinner afterwards. Hubby's first funeral and he got really freaked out. I thought he might faint because he broke out in a clammy sweat. He's severely introverted as well and does not like social situations.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Cancer makes no sense. It's a mistake that destroys itself along with its host. I'll be glad when all forms of cancer are relegated to the history books. |

I'd like to light a virtual candle for all those people who are in one way or another affected (lost their home, possessions or even worse, family members) by that terrible fire in that appartment building in London.

Yes. It was a tremendous tragedy.
Kudos to the man who rushed forward to catch the baby wrapped in a blanket and dropped in desperation by the mother from the ninth floor. I can't say it was a happy ending for the child, for it lost its mother, but at least it's alive and I wish it well. |

A dreadful event. The Brits must be reeling under the series of blows they are suffering over the last few weeks.

We're British. We don't do "reeling".
These are all dreadful things. But we must not let them define us or cow us. Last edited by Bilbo1967; 06-14-2017 at 06:02 PM. |

For my Sister who suffered a massive stroke and is in the hospital. She was mom's caretaker. Big decisions needed in the days ahead.
