Alexandre Dumas père; * 24. Juli 1802 in Villers-Cotterêts, Département Aisne; † 5. Dezember 1870 in Puys bei Dieppe, Seine-Maritime) war ein französischer Schriftsteller. Heute ist er vor allem durch seine zu Klassikern gewordenen Historienromane bekannt, etwa Die drei Musketiere und Der Graf von Monte Christo.

Eine Liebesgeschicht in einem volkommen sinnlosen Bürgerkrieg 1832 in der Vendée.
Als Michel, Baron la Logerie, Bertha und Mary kennen lernt verliebt er sich in Mary.
Petit-Pierre, die Prinzessin Barry, verspricht ihm im Namen des Vaters aber Bertha zur Frau, eine ziemlich verwickelte Geschichte, die aber gut ausgeht. Gut gemacht!
