Is it possible to transfer a book to another person's kindle?

Only if both Kindle's are registered to the same account (you wouldn't really transfer it, but both K's would have access to the same books).

no, that's not true. you can have the book sent to your computer, run it through calibre, hook the next Kindle up, and there ya go

I assume that when you say run it through calibre you mean to use the DeDrm script because if you just download the the book and import it into calibre without removing the DRM it will not work on the next kindle

That is the only down side, but it helps again piracy and gains more money for the author, otherwise, people would be trading all types of books
