You can what you view to only certain forums, if that helps.
User CP > Edit Options (down toward the bottom on the left-hand side) > Forum exclusions I have all the non-English language forums blocked, as an example, since I can't read/speak anything but English fluently. |

You can also use the USER CP selection. It will show you any new entries in threads that you are subscribed to. You are automatically subscribed if you posted to that thread. You can manage the subscriptions to turn off or on.
