Is it possible to adjust 'spacing'?
In the layout menu there is the spacing option. For some fonts it seems like the smallest is too close but the middle option is slightly too far apart (with the 3rd option the lines being massively too far apart).
I know you used to be able to, and perhaps still can, change the font sizing to be custom increments but is this also possible with the 'spacing' option? I'd like to change the middle one to be somewhere between the first and middle options. |

What are you on about? Are you talking line height or font size?

I'd guess line spacing. Three settings for line spacing and three for margin (with smallest quite large) is the poorest aspect of Kindle settings unless the Publisher has carefully tested.
Do select Publisher font (if available) as usually that will suit one of the Kindle line spacings better. |

Do you not own a Kindle? If not then I can see why you might not understand, though I don't know how anyone would read my post and think I meant font size.
https://comfortpit.com/wp-content/up...indle-text.png The UI is different now, it's just called 'spacing' but it is the spacing between the lines of text. I read on here that you can adjust what the numbers for the font actually mean (custom font sizes using FONT_RAMP) and was wondering if there was something similar but in regards to the spacing - i.e, some kind of trick to adjust the size of each spacing setting. Often the setting furthest to the left is too cramped, but the middle setting slightly too far apart. I thought you can do the same for font size, and you can adjust margins with negative margins, so there may be some similar trick for 'spacing'. I'd also rather use my own custom font, as some books don't actually come with embedded fonts. |

A custom font can be put into the fonts folder (check spelling and allowable types). No hacking needed.
You can change the CSS in an ebook in Calibre to have different margins. Setting an explicit line spacing is usually a bad idea, but also possible in CSS. Only early Kindles had a file you could edit to change the margin. |

I'm *explicitly* asking if you can alter the line spacing to be somewhere between settings 1 & 2 and how that would be achieved. I'll upload some screenshots to explain. I use a font called 'Capita' which is somewhat like Bookerly and for me the narrowest line spacing option is too cramped, but the second (middle) setting is *slightly* too far apart when compared to that setting using Bookerly: https://i.imgur.com/xbfFlCd.png - slightly too cramped https://i.imgur.com/8NiVqap.png - slightly too far apart. If you compare Capita with Bookerly, Bookerly on the middle setting is kind of between these two. I just want it between these two options. |

I use a custom font, Capita. It's like bookerly but with in my opinion better ligatures.
I also use custom margins, but wanted to know just about line spacing. I want the lines of text somewhere between the first and second settings if possible. |

Why? The smallest line height setting is too large.

Personal taste.
I have tried your ChareInk and whilst excellent, Capita is superior in my eyes, not least because the ligatures of 'Th' 'ff' 'fi' 'fj' and 'fl' are splendid. So there is no way to get any sort of custom line spacing seems to be the verdict? |

You would be best with a Kobo as that has a line height adjustment. |
