Epubcheck plugin
On my brand-new desktop computer (windows 11) in my brand-new Sigik download (1.9.30) I tried to install brand-new epubcheck 5.0.1. It was refused stating it was not a valid plugin. I got the same results with 5.0.0 and 4.2.6.
I had already python and Java installed.
Has anyone encountered the same problem? What's more, what can be done about it? My first try will be now to install a previous Sigil version.

It is not the Sigil version. Did which file exactly have you downloaded and tried to install?

Naming of the zip matters.

Is it possible you're confusing the epubcheck Sigil plugin zip and the epubcheck zip which contains only the epubcheck Java executables used by the Sigil plugin?

I can't give detailed help because I use the calibre epubcheck plugin, not the Sigil version.

For what it is worth, the Sigil epubcheck plugin downloads as EpubCheck_v0.4.6.3.zip. After it is downloaded and installed in Sigil, the first run will locate and download the latest version of epubcheck (currently 5.0.1). The current Sigil plugin version does not include the epubcheck.jar and other files due to the size of the download (the plugin .zip file clocks in at ~51KB while the epubcheck.zip clocks in at ~29MB.

Download the Sigil epubcheck plugin from the first message in the epubcheck plugin for Sigil thread.

It's very possible. Not sure why, but it seems to happen a lot for some odd reason. Why would the W3C host a Sigil plugin?
