Using Backup image to install new firmware?
Hi,
I have a rooted nook simple touch with firmware v 1.1.0 (I lost the backup files due to crashed seagate drive!) I tried installing the new firmware 1.2.1 but despite repeated attempts that never got installed Recently one of my friend got new nook simple touch which has the updated firmware version 1.2.1 if I take a copy of image of new nook, is there a way I can install the new firmware in my old nook?? |

One of the other ways to revert, may allow you to update.

Instead, you should try the methods #2 and #3 referenced in post #2 above to trigger a full restore of stock FW (which is backed up on every Nook). If they don't work for some reason, and your NST is the older regular Touch (not a Glow) model, then you might want to try the method described at http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1475613. Thanks!
Matth79 and Livramax!
I have old Nook without glowlight.... I would try the reset soon, as soon as i finish my current book! meanwhile, I remember that there were some recovery images available http://code.google.com/p/nst-recover...2.zip&can=2&q= from this site http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=24388165 hence came the hope/doubt.... |

Restored!
I have restored my nook simple touch and have updated the firmware as well!
found one bug here, one cannot remove highlighting of a SINGLE word. highlight function works well with multiple words but not with the single word. |
