Kobo Libra 2 - stuck on home screen, can't reset or power down

Hi.
I've tried resetting (pressing page down then power button) and also holding power button down for 40+ seconds. Neither has any effect - the device continues to be frozen.

Is this a known issue with Libra 2 devices? Any solutions, or is the thing just broken?

Remember the display on a Libra 2 is bistable so it won't change unless the screen is rewritten so you can't use the screen as a power indicator.

So when you held the page button and then the power button for up to 30 seconds, nothing happened? Have you connected it to a charger for a couple of hours before trying this?

Have what seems to be the exact same issue. Used my new Libra 2 for about 10 minutes. Activated, logged in to my kobo account, downloaded all the books and then a few minutes later it turned of the front light and became totally unresponsive. Plugged it in to charge overnight, but still no response from any combination of button presses or plugging it into the computer.
Thinking it may have to go back as defective.
