Kindle library format

What it is and what it should be. The proper version uses only 3 lines per book versus the newly updated stupid setup that uses 5 lines per book. Hello Amazon!!! Own your mistake and fix it!

Is the OP talking about the Home Screen display on a Kindle?

OP is another complaint about ‘too much space used when showing Library in List mode’, along with a suggested remedy.

Amazon has stated (some months ago) that there would be further changes involving HOME (more than 3 recent books will be accessible there) and LIBRARY (changes to FILTER and SORT menus, a new Collections view etc.).

We’ll see.

I think the library display when you're on List mode. But the home screen display on very old devices/firmware.

As long as I can access my books, how it looks is of little importance. I prefer list view, and usually set it that way. As long as I have some control of fonts etc, in the actual books, I'm good.

Yes, the library in list view that prior to the latest ridiculous "upgrade" showed 8 books per page and now shows 5 books per page. I first showed how the latest "upgrade" presents things and then one way that it should present them which shows 3 books in one less line than the current idiocy shows 2 books.

Amazon's screenshot of the planned new library view (linked above) shows cover images taking up the additional space leading to only five books shown per screen. It seems they have added the space there for the covers but for some reason have not gotten around to actually including them yet.

Hopefully, if they get around to it, they'll incorporate a toggle so those who prefer can switch it off and get more listings per page. Covers smaller than a postage stamp aren't all that useful in many (most?) cases.

Useful or not it appears that Amazon is trying to make the Kindle user interface more closely match that of the Kindle for iOS and Android apps.

I suspect that as with the other recent UI changes there will be no option to revert to the older interface.
