Questions about audiobook functionality (Libra 2 and Sage)

Hello everyone! Two questions for the group about the new Kobo e-reader models (Libra 2 and Sage)

1. Has anyone tried USB-C headphones on their Kobo Sage or Libra 2? Just asking to see if it would work.

2. Are you able to both listen to AND read from the ebook on the device at the same time? I'm not usually one to just listen to a book except on long drives, but I have read along while listening from my phone on occasion. In truth, this is actually the only reason I might even want audiobooks on my e-reader. Otherwise, they just seem like a waste of the battery and storage space IMHO.

My suspicion to the answer is "no" on both accounts, but thought I'd check with those who have them. Kobo's site doesn't mention anything about it that I could see, so again, not an encouraging sign.

Thanks!

No. As a general rule, I'd rather pull out my own teeth than listen to audiobooks, but the one use I do have for them is to listen along while reading in a non-L1 language. So this was one of the first things I tried when I got my Sage, sideloading Il Gattopardo in both ebook and audiobook, then discovering that it was indeed just a waste of space. I went back to reading on my Sage while playing the audiobook in VLC.

I don't think so. I'm sure something like this would be mentioned if they supported it. The only possibility is if it is being developed and is in the firmware for testing.

No, you have to be in the Audiobook player to listen to one. When you exit, the playback is stopped.

Well, can't say I'm surprised, but it is a bummer. Thanks to both of you and your quick responses!
