I've attached a Pyglossary conversion of the Korean-English Stardict format dictionary from https://www.nchrs.xyz/stardict/ko/index.html.

When I copied it to my Kobo, it shows up as 한국어 - English but I don't have any Korean language books on my Kobo to test it with so please let me know if it works for you. Place it in the custom-dict directory inside the .kobo directory.

Could someone help me with converting a few japanese dictionaries to kobo format? I have tried using pyglossary but i cant figure it out. Everytime i try and convert them into kobo format i get an error saying that marisa-trie is not installed but it is. I have a link to the dictionaries i would like to have converted, its all of them except the two at the top in english.

Are you sure that marisa-trie is installed for the Python install that you are using to run pyglossary? From a command line/terminal session, try running "python -m pip install -U marisa-trie" and see what it returns.

I've sent you a PM with a link to the dictionary .zip files stuffed into a .zip file just to reduce the clutter. You will need to extract the .zip files from the master archive and rename as needed. Please let me know how it goes.

Thank you very much for the zip files but in the end i did actually manage to get it to work. But now i have another problem, whenever i highlight a word the dictionaries wont show any results. But i could search within the dictionary itself and get results.

Apresyan English - Russian

Hi! I just moved from Kindle Oasis to Kobo Clara BW and was upset that Kobo does not have English - Russian dictionaries built-in. I didn't like the dictionaries I found online, including this thread, so I decided to convert Apresyan English-Russian dictionary from stardict to Kobo format.

dicthtml-en-ru.zip

It is a decent dictionary that many people like to use, but I'm still missing Oxford English - Russian dictionary from Kindle. I wasn't able to find it in any downloadable format to convert it to Kobo format. I found one on my Mac in form of Apple Binary Dict, but it contains a lot of html and css that are not really good convertible. And I think this will be a huge pain to convert it from html to Markdown for proper formatting on Kobo.

Hello,
I'm asking the question on this thread because it seems active and it can be interesting for other people.
I'm trying to install some dictionaries on my Kobo Aura One and I have a question about the names of the dictionaries.
I've seen that one can name the dictionary dicthtml-some_name.zip and it works (the name of the dictionary when using with the kobo is the same which is not very fine).
I've also seen that it doesn't seem to work if the name doesn't begin by 'dicthml'.
I've look for some documentation about this topic but didn't find answers.
Is there some documentation about the name of the dictionary (not dicthtml-en or dicthtml-en-fr which are limited when one want to install several dictionaries) ?
Thanks in advance.

There was some discussion earlier in this thread, starting 1st October 2020, which was when the current dictionary system was introduced.

TL;DNR, post #860 may be all you need, however, the suggestion that you can remove the .zip extension didn't work for me.

Hi,
Thank you wery much.
I thought Kobo had perhaps change this but it seems that this isn't the case.
Removing the extension doesn't seem to work for me either.

Can anyone help me convert a Hungarian-English dictionary to use on the Kobo Libra 2?

I tried to use Penelope to do it myself, but I couldn't make it work. I have an English-Hungarian dictionary, but I haven't been able to find Hungarian to English.

I would be so grateful for your help!

Is this for Wind and Truth only or is it for the previous four books as well?
