I also have the full page refresh enabled for every page; I expect this drains the battery more quickly than partial refresh. |

Wow, under an hour to charge is pretty fast. It would probably take my Libra twice as long to do a full charge from a 10W charger.

As for being totally useless? I can see the size and weight comparison between the two windows and on the fonts I use, the results match what I see when reading. |

Typically 40 minute when very low, on a compatible charger. My TCL 33W chargers are compatible, so must it may use the Qualcomm scheme, though only at 5V. Other chargers are charging much slower (likely the common 500 mA rather than 1.5A). Doesn't fast charge on Dell Optiplex 7050 USB-C or on my Lenovo laptop's USB-C (which can't be turned off even when laptop off as charging port unlike my older Lenovo that had a BIOS setting).

Upon entering “Advanced” mode the size of the fonts in the two windows did not match the current size of the reading font. The fonts were extremely small in comparison. I think you are right about font type. I have already returned the e-reader so I cannot be more specific about what was happening.

It seems both your Sage and Pypeke's had some weird font issues going on - maybe that's why they were returned. |

I think you are probably right. I purchased a refurbished Forma some months ago that had bad battery performance from day one. By day three it wouldn't even turn on. I returned it and was told it had a "defective part." I did get a prompt refund. But I suspect the device had the "defective part" before they sent it to me.
