This file does work, but it displays in the dictionary selection menu as "dicthtml-cf.zip".

Is there an easy way to change the name/label on it?

Ah, I just realized this is because "cf" is not a valid language code. Changing the file name to "dicthtml-en" now displays the dictionary as "English (Custom)".

It doesn't seem like there's a way to change that to "Cosmere" or anything else, but this is certainly still an improvement!

You would need to use a valid language code. Since there is no language code for Cosmere, I just left it at -cf.

Hello,
I'm writing here because it's about converting a dictionary to kobo format using pyglossary. I'm under Ubuntu 24 (and also Opensuse) but I can't install marisa-trie. The sytem tells me that "This environment is externally managed (and to try pipx but it doesn't work).
Can someone tell me if he's under Linux which distribution he is using (under which marisa-trie can be easily installed).
Many thanks in advance.

I've found a solution.
pip install marisa-trie --break-system-packages
(see StackOverflow)

PS: The conversion was pretty complex, so a check and opinion of an arabian user will be appreciated
Hello Owl_, Greetings from Algeria..
I confirm it works fine! I just tested it yesterday on my Kobo Clara BW. I tried to translate from English into Arabic. At first, the text appears as some unreadable small boxes. but, when I added Arab fonts as supplemental fonts, it works very fine!! Thank you so much brother. On behalf of all the users of Kobo devices in the Arab world, I send you my sincere gratitude because we really need that dictionary. (If you were here in Algeria close to me, I would have invited you to dine with me (^_^).. Thank you!

Here are the custom hyphenation dictionaries. They are better then the ones Kobo supplies as they give better hyphenation. The values Kobo uses for L/R hyphenation are too large.

There are...
  • English
  • French
  • German
  • Spanish
  • Hungarian
