Pshaw. If you haven't read it yet, I really really really recommend Devil in the White City. Have I said that yet in this thread? LOL!

I don't think it's a cop out. I'm kind of bummed we got a tie, but if DITWC won I would have started a discussion for Stiff anyway (since I obviously read the other, and would chime in on that discussion). The great thing about the book club is you get introduced to books that you might not have thought about reading before, or get a nudge to read something you've been considering for a while. So everyone's a winner

I'm jumping on the "you made the right decision" bandwagon - it's perfectly reasonable to run two threads. With 14 votes each, there should be plenty of people to have a discussion on both - TBH, there wasn't as much discussion of GWTW as I'd hoped - perhaps not many people actually read it. These books are much shorter - the only reason that I'd not read Devil this month is that it's still expensive from the UK, so I may wait.

On the Origin of Species front - I'd be happy to discuss that too, although I'm not going to read it again because I read it recently.

Anyway - thanks again, Bob, for your efforts in running the club. I wouldn't want the hassle but I enjoy the fact that it's there - I'm sure that a lot of people appreciate it.

The "Problem" as I see it is that if the point of the club is to read and discuss a particular book each month, then that has not happened. I know it's only two, but we've dissolved into a "here's some suggestions, lets read and discuss them in separate threads" club.

Bob I respect all you (and everyone else here) does for this, but I do think if the point is to read and discuss a book together then by choosing two books we've tarnished that goal.

Yes, because you have a Kindle. If you didn't then you would need Kindle for Mac (which doesn't yet exist).

I'm not sure what I'm going to read to be honest. I'm kind of preoccupied at the moment but I'm a rather quick reader so I may have read Stiff and TDINWH by the end of the month.
