Do you remember last year when Ellen had to apologize to Apple on air after doing a skit "making the iPhone seem difficult to use" ? |

The RIM Playbook is shipping WITHOUT email and contacts capabilities and yet you'd rather believe that the mainstream media is in Apple's corner rather than look to RIM's brain-dead decision to ship a device without critical functionality. The media would have to exhibit a clear anti-Apple bias to do anything less than trash the RIM Playbook as it currently is shipping. If you believe that iOS is merely an app launcher then you don't understand what operating systems and user interfaces are. |

It would be well publicized by said media outlets if Apple tried to pull a stunt like that. |

Bias doesn't get any worse than in the forums. All it takes is a couple read-throughs and you quickly see where most people stand... and they won't waver with their opinions, right or wrong.

Probably dead before launching. It doesn't seem to be offering anything new. It's OS almost seems to be a cross between iOS, Android, and a little of this-n-that thrown in. If they can sell it at $300 they might stand a fighting chance... otherwise, why even launch a weak-market tablet? |

BTW it's not a surprise Android and Playbook look so much like the webOS. Android snagged up the lead designer for Palm when the company was acquired by HP and RIM pretty much admitted they stole the gesters and cards concept from them. As for looking like the iOS, not sure how? The launcher pad is a pretty common concept I use to have one back in the WinMo days. |
