KOBO firmware
I have got an error message to my KOBO Aura with calibre, version 2.35.0...
WARNING: Failed: Kobo database version unsupported - See details Your Kobo is running an updated firmware/database version. As calibre does not know about this updated firmware, database editing is disabled, to prevent corruption. You can still send books to your Kobo with calibre, but deleting books and managing collections is disabled. If you are willing to experiment and know how to reset your Kobo to Factory defaults, you can override this check by right clicking the device icon in calibre and selecting "Configure this device" and then the "Attempt to support newer firmware" option. Doing so may require you to perform a factory reset of your Kobo. Device database version: 121. Device firmware version: (3, 17, 3) Any idea or wait to calibre newer version? |

Why are you asking this in the "General Discussions" forum? Moved to the Calibre forum, where it belongs.

ciemiku: The answer is to do exactly what the message says, or wait. The firmware has been updated and the driver in calibre checks the version number. While there are no changes in the firmware that affect the interaction with calibre, and there have not been for a while, the check is for safety. The change to bump the supported firmware version has been checked in and will be in the next calibre release. Until then, you can safely follow the instructions in the message.
For future reference, whenever there is a new firmware release, a thread is created in the Kobo forum here to discuss the release. An early post will include anything known about the firmware and I will post a statement about the calibre status. If there is going to be a problem with calibre, it will be announced there. |

I just got a new aura and got the data base version unsupported message, i see from the post that this should be dealt with in the next calibre update. Do you know when this will happen

Calibre releases generally happen once a week, on a Friday.

Or just do as has been said many times before; check the box that says "Attempt to support newer firmware" in the Kobo driver within calibre.
