Stylus and screen protector

Hello everyone,

I am getting my first e-reader, the new Kindle Paperwhite. I would like to know, from your experiences if I should also get a stylus and a screen protector to prevent it from getting scratches and/or dirt. Is it easier to highlight words and look up words in the dictionary with a stylus? Thank you very much.

I've never used a screen protector on any of my eink ereaders. A good, sturdy cover will do far more to protect the screen.

As for a stylus, I'd wait and test the unit out before I'd bother thinking about a stylus. To look up a work that is already on the screen, all you need to do is press on the word with a finger, you don't have to type it out. If you decide you need a stylus, you can always get one later.

I only pop a screen protector on when I go on holiday, as it protects from fingers with sunscreen on, but I take it off when I am home. I don't use a stylus but a decent cover is a must.
