I still use Linux for my research box but made the move to Mac's BSD unix shortly after NextStep was integrated to create OSX as its desktop environment/Finder was simply better than what any other unix like environment was offering. Apple is just going too far with its we know better walled garden ideas. I don't mind walled gardens on iDevices, just not on a desktop computer. |

Data collected
Does Sigil collect some data? Because I see from the firewall log that Sigil connects to internet.

Many Sigil plugins perform a similar update check when they run. Last edited by DiapDealer; 10-28-2018 at 05:03 PM. |

Sorry. Separate font sizes/families for tags vs content in Code View is simply not feasible. Nor is it likely that separate display settings for css/html will be implemented. If you need that degree of customization, you'd probably be better served using an external (and full-fledged) code editor (check out Sigil's "Open With" feature). Sigil has no aspirations to rival the feature-sets of dedicated code editing IDEs.

Makes perfect sense for pure code editing IDEs. But as I've mentioned, we're not really looking to expand on Sigil's code-editing feature set. Those environments already exist--use them. Sigil is an epub editor, not a full-featured code-editing IDE. Folks needing that kind of environment should do their editing outside of Sigil and then import it when done (or use Sigil's Open With feature). Last edited by DiapDealer; 11-01-2018 at 09:03 AM. |

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place but I've upgraded Sigil to the latest version. on my Mac. I'm on Mojave. When I try to edit a book I can't see any of the images. Big boxes with a question mark in them are all I see. What have I done wrong?

Did you happen to leave this Sigil open for a very long time without saving? Sigil opens EPUBs to a temporary folder. On Mac OS, after a certain amount of time (let's say 24 hours), the OS "helpfully" cleans the temp folder. If this was your issue: Save often! (I personally Save As with the date every time I work on it, so at most I lose a day of progress.) Also go to: Edit > Preferences > General Settings > Set Folder where temporary files should be created and change the folder. This setting was added in Sigil 0.9.6. You can see some discussion about it here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...05#post3337205 Sadly, that temp folder bug is a Mac OS issue... not much Sigil can do about it. @JBaby ---
Make sure that in your html the image tag looks something like this: <div class="illus"> <img alt="" class="img100" src="../Images/00001.jpg"/> </div> You *must* have the correct "path" to the image folder, and make sure that the word Images has a Capital I ("capital" or "upper" case): src="../Images/ |

Remember that the only way Sigil can successfully update the paths to files (if it needs to) is if the hrefs in the manifest section of the opf are correct to begin with. If the images weren't manifested correctly in the original epub, Sigil has no way to put things right.
