Any foreseeable problems when ocr.processing pdfs in my collection?

Hello,

I plan to run OCR on a number of Pdf files in my calibre (Ubuntu 12.04) collection and I only want to avoid any possible complications with the database or calibre in general. These files are going to be opened, processed and saved with a third application. They will be saved with the same filename but obviously a different file size and time stamp.

Does anyone know of any possible complications this could cause for my calibre collection and, if so, know any way around these potential difficulties?

Many thanks to all in advance!!

As long you dont have calibre running at the same time, there shouldbe no problems. Of course, the filesizes in calibre will be out of date, to avoid tht you should consider using the calibredb command to re-add the files to the calibre library instead of directly accessing them.

The Quality check PI can fix (update) the sizes displayed that Kovid has mentioned.
