Tag Browser

Please don't hate me.... I see the term "Tag Browser" all the time but I don't seem to have one. I have a "Tag Mapper" for entering rules, but not the old Tab Browser. I do have 2.40 64bit. I feel like an old fart asking for a hind to cross the street but can anybody help me cross this street?

Click the Luggage Tag to show
Tag Browser is more than just the Tags: column
There are sections for just about all the columns (not Comments or Title)

A new tool to apply Tag mapper rules to existing books in the library. To use it, go to Preferences->Toolbars and add the tool to the toolbar.
Kindle driver: Detect books in Amazon's new KFX format present on e-ink kindles.

Closes tickets: 1496206

Note that this only detects KFX books and allows you to delete them. You cannot copy them to your calibre library. Doing so would be pointless anyway, as KFX books are specialised for individual devices. Instead go to your 'Manage my content' page an amazon.com and download them from there -- this will give you a regular azw3 file you can add to calibre.

Now you can create simple rules that will filter/transform the tags when adding new books or downloading metadata for books. To setup the rules, go to Preferences->Adding books and Preferences->Downloading metadata

My "Luggage Tag" only opens Tag Mapper. The title bar says: Map tags for nnn books in the library

The description says:
You can specify rules to filter/transform tags here. Click the "Add Rule" button below to get started. The rules will be processed in order for every tag until either a "remove" or a "keep" rule matches.

The changes will be applied to nnn selected books.

Then is the "+Add Rule" and "- rule(s)" buttons.

Clicking on the remove rules button I have no rules. Clicking on the add button I get an "edit rule" dialog.

I figure there must be something missing by all the messages I read about comparing stuff in the forum.

I think theducks meant the luggage tag that is at the bottom right of the calibre window. That one opens or closes the tag browser. The new one you are talking about is a button you can add to the toolbar.

Dont feel bad, an errant double click hid my tag browser and it took over 20 mins of googling to find your post and the answer.
