Indexing
I'm a leisure reader. In the 6 months or so that I've had my Kindle (DXG) I haven't needed to search once. Indexing, however, has been a right pain, happening when I don't expect it and draining the battery.
So here's the question; can I turn indexing off? |

No. It happens when you add new books to the device.

If it only happened then I wouldn't care about it.

I thought I recall a thread here or on another board on how to avoid indexing.
But as written above, it should not always be indexing. If a book has stalled, you should identify it and then delete and reload it. |

It's not always, but since the 2.5.8 "upgrade" a re-start seems to force a full re-indexing. I won't be doing any re-starts for a while if I can help it.
I have searched for a way to disable indexing without success. If any one can point me at a thread I'd be grateful. Thanks. |

There is this thread in the Developer's Section about somebody who disabled indexing
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=116981 You might try bumbing it up and asking if it is still valid for you DX/Firmware before trying it. |
