Lending ebooks

Being completely new to the whole world of ebooks, this may be a dumb question, but is there some way you can lend you ebooks to other people legally?

Not on the Sony, as far as I know. Nook and Kindle have lending enabled, but Sony doesn't.

I believe the only way it can be done is if both devices are registered to the same Adobe ID.

Nook marketing made a big deal of lending, and now Kindle has started doing it, too. But, e-book lending is, in my opinion, nothing to get excited about.

Users can lend select e-books one time only and the loan expires after 14 days. Not all publishers allow the feature, and some allow it for a limited number of titles.

It's all sizzle and no steak. Sony owners really aren't missing out.
