EChapterOne

Has anyone used EChapterOne for ebooks? They offer 4 formats including Adobe Digital Editions but not on every book. Some of them only offer Adobe Reader and Microsoft Reader formats, which would be the recommended choice for the 505?

It seems that Adobe Reader and Adobe Digital Editions are the same thing on their site. See below a copy/paste from their FAQ's:

Quote:
Adobe Reader/Adobe Digital Editions: You need Adobe Digital Editions. (Note: Adobe Reader 8.0 and newer versions are not able to read Adobe Reader formatted eBooks.) You can download Adobe Digital Editions for FREE. Simply click on this link, Adobe Digital Editions.
With Microsoft Reader, you would need to remove the DRM from the file then convert it using Calibre to a format that can be read on the Sony.

To answer your question, Adobe would be the preferred format in purchasing from that site. Their prices seem a little high but what you pay is your decision.

Thanks, their format comparison chart listed Adobe Reader and Adobe Digital Editions seperate for some reason.

I came across a couple on there that were a few dollars cheaper than BoB and the Sony ebookstore. I just like having plenty of options, plus they offer a military discount.

I suspect that since they don't differentiate between Adobe Reader and Adobe Digital Editions, these would be DRM'ed PDF files and not ePub files. These will work on the reader, but in most cases won't look as good ad ePub files. If you have a choice between an Adobe Digitial Edition here and an ePub elsewhere, I'd lean toward getting the epub file elsewhere.
